British Liberal Democrat leader Nick Clegg has said that children attending faith schools should be taught that homosexuality is "normal and harmless", according to The Telegraph. He and other Liberal Democrat leaders "support measures forcing teachers, including those working in faith schools, to implement policies to combat homophobic bullying, with lessons teaching that same-sex relationships are “normal”." (Emphasis added to preceding quote mine.)

While the goals of Mr. Clegg and his cohorts don't impact the majority of my base of readers, most of whom are Americans, do I even need to say that we can expect the same type of rallying calls to take place here in America, potentially very soon, if we don't get a grip on the kind of people we're electing to serve as our nation's leaders? Think about it.

Can you imagine the government trying to force Christian schools to teach in direct opposition to the teachings of the Word of God on the issue of homosexuality? If you can't, all that needs to be done by those of us who still believe the Word of God to be true and accurate regarding all things is for us to sit on our hands as we've been doing for far too long now and allow our political parties to select people who don't reflect our values for election to office, both locally and nationally. If we're unwilling to be part of the solution, we're as much to blame for our nation's moral and spiritual problems as those creating them for us, an inconvenient truth with all respect to Al Gore.

If the majority of Americans still hold conservative values - and polling indicates this to be true regardless of whether one is a born again Christian or not - something can be done to change the atmosphere in our halls of government and should be! If something isn't done, which requires action on the part of all of us, it isn't going to take long for someone in Washington to be demanding that Liberty University, for example, begin teaching homosexuality as normal.

Again I ask you: Can you imagine the government trying to force Christian schools to teach in direct opposition to the teachings of the Word of God? Government forcing the hand of public schools to teach in opposition to God's Word is part and parcel these days, but Christian schools? Watch out because opposition to the Word of God is highly infectious!

Separating truth from lies

Regardless of what anyone says to the contrary, whether a leader in government, a talk show host, psychiatrist, philosopher or anyone else, God's Word is clear in its assertion that homosexuality is not "normal". It is quite the opposite; it is unnatural to be certain!

Romans 1:26-27:

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Homosexuality is against nature, not according to Michael Mickey but according to the divinely inspired Word of God. It is a vile form of affection in the eyes of the Lord and this is a point that no one of the Christian faith should dare to argue for the sake of political correctness.

Having written what I just did, I want to be as clear as crystal in stating that sin is sin and ALL sin separates us from fellowship with God. You sin, I sin and so does every other individual presently inhabiting human flesh but a sin is a sin is a sin and, as long as Almighty God is seated upon His throne, so it shall always be!

Human government, which is literally living on borrowed time in these last days, may try and trump God's Word and even succeed in many cases, but no law written by man will be of benefit on the day when we each will stand in judgment before God to give an accounting of ourselves. It's important for each and every person who will read this commentary, whether they agree with its content or not, to accept that truth. God's Word, which clearly identifies homosexuality as a sin, is going to stand forever and we will be held accountable where our efforts to be obedient to it, or lack of effort as the case is sadly going to be for many, is concerned. Period.

Matthew 24:35: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

Mark 13:31: Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

Luke 21:33: Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.

In conclusion and review:

• Everyone, yes everyone, is a sinner. If we say we have no sin, we are deceiving ourselves and the truth is not in us according to 1st John 1:8.
• Biblical truth clearly defines homosexuality as a sin every bit as much as lying, stealing, committing adultery, idolatry, etc. The list of sins goes on and on but a sin is a sin is a sin. Nothing can change that so calling anything sinful "normal" is pointless.
• God's Word can not be legislated out of relevance by man and is going to remain a constant throughout all time to come. Of interest to those of us watching for the return of Christ, however? The more human government bows its knee to "the god of this world" (2nd Corinthians 4:4), namely Satan, the closer we are to Christ's return.
• There is forgiveness for all sin through Jesus Christ our Lord. 1st John 1:9 tells us that if we will confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If our confession of sin made to God is genuine, we will strive to be more obedient in response to His forgiveness and that will bring change to our lives, the kind of change that is pleasing to God.

A lot is made these days of everyone opposed to homosexuality being filled with hate toward those who practice the lifestyle, which is absurd yet believed to be true by a growing segment of our population which conveniently fails to see the double standard involved in reaching that conclusion. In a world where we're supposed to avoid offending one another's delicate feelings to absurd levels, why doesn't anyone cry foul or see it as 'hate' when long-held moral values based on the Christian faith are thrown under the bus of political correctness, ran over, backed over, and then ran over again? The answer is because the Holy Bible really is God's Word, Satan isn't a fictional character but a living, breathing being of extraordinary supernatural power, and a battle between good and evil is underway the likes of which mankind has never seen before! Like it or not, believe it or not, we are living in the prophesied last days and Jesus Christ is coming soon which raises a question each of us needs to answer: Am I a good enough person to get to heaven without Jesus Christ?
