Missing in action on the National Day of Prayer earlier this year, President Barack Obama has been anything but since the Muslim world began observance of the month of Ramadan, during which the Muslim world fasts daily until sundown, among other things.
Last night at the White House, in what is nothing new there (in fairness to our current president), President Obama held a dinner in honor of Ramadan. During the evening, the president gave a speech during which he noted the following, in part: "The contribution of Muslims to the United States are too long to catalog because Muslims are so interwoven into the fabric of our communities and our country."
The contribution of Muslims to the United States are too long to catalog? Personally, in light of all the sorrows Islam has brought to our nation with its jihads, fatwas, and the like, I would've been happy to hear an abridged version of what the Muslim faith has done for our country. A short list of 20 or so things Islam has done for the United States would've sufficed. Maybe next year.
Equal footing?
Given how much the Christian faith has done for so many, both here and around the world, maybe the president can return to having a dinner on the National Day of Prayer next year and honor what he publicly refers to as his personal faith with the same fervor he did at the White House last night, reminding Americans and people around the world what Christianity has done to positively shape our nation throughout its history. My guess, based on what I've seen of his administration thus far? Don't hold your breath waiting on that to happen!
While President Obama feels right at home cuddling up with Muslims, I'm of the opinion his slight of Christians from earlier this year, was calculated. Why would he, the Messiah of liberalism and friend of radicals of every sort, want to be associated with those of us who "cling to religion and guns" and "hold fast to worn arguments and old attitudes"? Perhaps that's why he elected to honor those who are peaceful and loving instead of Christians, namely the followers of Islam whose faith brought us the Beirut barracks bombing, 9/11, the attacks on the USS Cole and the Pentagon, the blowing up of our embassies in Africa, homicide bombers, honor killings, wife beatings and more. Don't get me wrong here. To be sure, I'm aware that there are plenty of Muslims who aren't involved in those things, some of whom I've interacted with and held in kind regard, but their holy book undoubtedly encourages such behaviors, particularly that they befriend neither Christians nor Jews, hardly a characteristic trait that meshes well with long-standing American traditions like FREEDOM of religion, to name one example.
With all due respect to the flattering words of our president, whom I'm being no more critical of than I was George W. Bush when he held office for blabbering the same type of appeasing rhetoric which always falls on deaf ears with radical Muslims, we need not look far in the news of our world today to see how Islam is enriching one of our own's life with its values. Consider the case of Rifqa Bary, for example. Presently, she is on the run from her parents, fearing her recent conversion to Christianity is going to result in her becoming the victim of an honor killing. Pipeline News tells her story like this, in part:
With public awareness of the lessons of 9/11 rapidly fading along with support for U.S. overseas efforts to combat Islamic terrorism, the prospect of sending Ms. Fathima Rifqa Bary - a 17 year old now on the run and fearful of being killed because of her conversion from Islam to Christianity - back to her family and the terror tied Noor mosque seems like the stuff of a bad dream.
A bad dream indeed! A nightmare even.
There will be those who will say of me, particularly in this time of political correctness in the Christian church, "
Mike, you are part of the reason we and the Muslims can't get along! If more Christians were prepared to meet them halfway and embrace their religious beliefs as valid, the world would be a better place." No, dear readers, it wouldn't.
Mere hours after President Obama honored Islam, particularly at a time when he and his administration goon, Attorney General Eric Holder, are doing everything within their power to
vilify the C.I.A. and American soldiers for not being nice enough to Muslim terrorists during interrogations of them carried out as a result of the war on terror, how ironic it was to me this morning when I found the information to follow in an Israel National News article entitled '
Ahmadinejad's Imam: Islam Allows Raping, Torturing Prisoners'.
I warn you before you go any further. An excerpt from the article I'm referring to is posted below. It is both graphic and extremely disturbing, enough so that water boarding looks like a picnic lunch by comparison. Read no further if you are made queasy by sexually immoral conduct of a violent nature.
Asked if a confession obtained "by applying psychological, emotional and physical pressure" was "valid and considered credible according to Islam,"
Mesbah-
Yazdi, who is reportedly Iranian president Mahmoud
Ahmadinejad's personal spirit guide, replied:
"Getting a confession from any person who is against the Velayat-e Faqih ("Guardianship of the Islamic Jurists", or the regime of Iran's mullahs) is permissible under any condition." The ayatollah gave the identical answer when asked about confessions obtained through drugging the prisoner with opiates or addictive substances.
"Can an interrogator rape the prisoner in order to obtain a confession?" was the follow-up question posed to the Islamic cleric.
Mesbah-Yazdi answered: "The necessary precaution is for the interrogator to perform a ritual washing first and say prayers while raping the prisoner. If the prisoner is female, it is permissible to rape through the vagina or anus. It is better not to have a witness present. If it is a male prisoner, then it's acceptable for someone else to watch while the rape is committed."
This reply, and reports of the rape of teen male prisoners in Iranian jails, may have prompted the following question: "Is the rape of men and young boys considered sodomy?"
Ayatollah Mesbah-Yazdi: "No, because it is not consensual. Of course, if the prisoner is aroused and enjoys the rape, then caution must be taken not to repeat the rape."
That, my friends, is a disturbing glimpse into the mindset of many of Islam's proponents, but what the heck? Let's look the other way and honor it at the White House as though its positive role in America's morality, history and communities today is simply astounding, its accomplishments as innumerable as the stars in heaven! No one could even begin to acknowledge them, especially President Obama.
While I wish no ill will toward peaceful followers of Islam nor disrespect to the president himself, it really sticks in my craw when he, having a staff of radicals in our White House whose underlying goals for our nation are potentially no better than radical Islam's, goes out of his way to honor Islam after turning his back on the evangelical Christian community earlier this year.
Both Islam and President Obama have a long way to go when it comes to winning the hearts and minds of conservative Christians and members of the GOP, not to mention an ever-growing list of Democrats and Independents who are beginning to sense that the Obama administration isn't looking out for our best interests or reflecting our values on any level whatsoever.
May God stir the heart of President Obama, if his heart has room in it to change the course he is taking this nation on, and lead him to repentance. If the U.S.A. continues down the liberal path it's presently on, particularly if a communist revolution is brewing within the halls of our government as widely rumored on the worldwide web, judgment is coming and not just for the American citizenry. It's going to come for the leaders of our nation who've brought us so low with all their pandering to radicals of every shape, form and fashion as well. While many radicals have achieved victory over freedom-loving peoples before, few of them have succeeded in their efforts long-term. Many of them, like Hitler and Mussolini, to name a few, met with ends that were less than pleasant because even good men, godly men, understand that there is a season for everything under heaven.
There is a time of war and a time of peace. (Ecclesiastes 3:8) While no one enjoys a conflict, well over half of the population of the United States is in opposition to our nation becoming a socialist one, many of whom I suspect would resist any effort to make it so to the utmost of their ability. Perhaps this is why President Obama saw the need for a civilian national security force to be set up that would be as well-trained, funded and equipped as our military, as well as civilian law enforcement agencies. If a Marxist-like revolution is on his mind, he'd better arm his Looney Lefties to the hilt as it's a sure thing that well over half our troops and civilian law enforcement officers are going to uphold their vows to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Besides, who in their right mind, particularly at a time when Iran, for example, is on the verge of getting a nuclear bomb, thinks this to be a time when America needs to overhaul what's worked for us for over 200 years and replace it with a system of government that has never been successful anyplace else in recorded history?
What times we're living in, Christians! Up is down! Darkness is light! Freedom is imprisonment! Muslims are acceptable to align one's self with politically; Christians aren't! I don't know what is going to happen next, but there are multiple causes for concern for our nation. The only prescribed method to heal our nation's ever-deepening spiritual wounds is for those of us who are called by Christ's name to return to our faith with renewed vigor, repentantly asking the Lord to help us each be the best person we can possibly be, reflecting the love and peace of Christ everywhere we go and upon everyone we encounter in our daily lives. If we do that, just those of us who are Christian with no help from anyone else, it may be that the Lord will hold back the tide of darkness presently pressing against our gates.
2nd Chronicles 7:14: If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
Right now we need the Father to hear us from heaven, forgive us of our many sins and heal our lands, if only until Christ returns for His Church - an event the wickedness of this age leads me to believe has to be drawing near! Between now and then, let us pray for our leaders in positions of authority to be wise in their decision-making processes and for the salvation of those who do not know the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior. Let us pray for one another as well as many Christians, myself included, are feeling pretty downtrodden in spirit as we watch our nation staggering like a drunkard approaching the edge of a cliff!
May God bless you all and keep you safe in these perilous times.
In Christ,
Mike
