Lately I've dedicated a lot more time to addressing issues related to our commander-in-chief and his policies than I have, quite frankly, wanted to. It's gotten so bad that a long-time reader of my site essentially labeled me a 'right wing zealot' a few days ago in perfect MSNBC-like fashion and asked to be removed from my mailing list - a list I've probably used 10 times in the last year I might add.

I've gone too far for some of my more delicate readers, it seems, in having a problem with the president's healthcare reform bill, probably because some, even Christians, are drinking a bit too much of the Obama Kool Aid being doled out every night by the mainstream media and, subsequently, becoming willing supporters of a man with a laundry list of misdeeds as long as my arm any Christian should be able to recognize and have a problem with! On my end, the problem I have with his healthcare reform plot may be because I love my 93-year-old grandmother too much or maybe I'm just too much of a believer in the American dream, capitalism, democracy and the like but I can't help but be vocal in my opposition. The president's legislation is socialistic in nature, not to mention 'downright evil' as Sarah Palin put it. And yes, I agree with her 100%.

The road to socialism our nation is presently on, socialism being a bridge one crosses on the way from capitalism to communism, is a path to nowhere I personally don't want to be on. The further our nation moves to the Left, the closer it moves toward socialism, not to mention the closer the Church moves toward becoming an enemy of the state. In like fashion, the more Left the United States goes, the more the Holy Bible becomes a mere book, one liberals see in a light similar to that which most conservatives presently view Adolf Hitler's 'Mein Kampf' in.

Having commented on all I have thus far, I am going to reel myself in before I get on a rant because I'm pleased to announce I have something to discuss that is related both to some of what I've said thus far and bible prophecy as well! After all, the relationship between current events and bible prophecy is what RaptureAlert.com is really all about, not Right-Left politics. So let's get to it, shall we?

Attack On The Family

As many of you know by now, the Obama administration has signaled it may be open to compromise on the issue of government-run healthcare, perhaps being willing to settle for nonprofit health cooperatives to ensure at least some progress is made toward 'reform'. This has helped to cool down the sentiments of many upset Americans somewhat, myself included, but it hasn't taken long for President Obama to push another hot button for the vast majority of us by attacking God's institution of marriage. That's right! Once an Obama, always an Obama! Once a liberal in opposition to most everything the bible stands for, always a liberal opposed to God's will, barring repentance and behavioral modification, of course.

OneNewsNow is today reporting the following, in part:

A conservative black pastor in Washington, DC, is expressing outrage over President Obama's decision to file a legal brief in support of repealing the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA).

A new brief filed yesterday by Justice Department lawyer Scott Simpson declares that the Obama administration "does not support DOMA as a matter of policy," and "believes that the Act is discriminatory and should be repealed by Congress." In a written statement, President Obama states that he has "long held that DOMA prevents LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered] couples from being granted equal rights and benefits." (See earlier story) In fact, as a U.S. senator representing Illinois, Obama stated his support for "the complete repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act."

It's things like this that keep me and most of America's conservative Christians in a huff with this White House! Not only has our nation started outsourcing the baby killing industry known as abortion to nations overseas since Obama took the White House in January, it's gotten into the automobile and banking industries as well, not to mention quadrupling the largest budget deficit ever recorded in only 7 months! Not only has all of this been accomplished since Obama took the helm, our leaders have even found time to label everyone who believes in bible prophecy, has ever served in the armed forces, opposes abortion or illegal immigration as 'right wing extremists', low level terrorists essentially. And now this - making an utter mockery of God's Word and the sacred institution of marriage by attempting to repeal the Defense Of Marriage Act.

I wonder why everyone is so upset. How about you?

Ladies and gentlemen, ask yourselves why President Obama and his Leftist goons keep trying to force the CLEAR majority of us into accepting, as national policies no less, things we are opposed to! Do our esteemed leaders in Washington believe they're working for us or themselves and their special interests, the majority of which are immoral and unbiblical? I would submit that the latter is the case which is why I genuinely hope that Americans will peacefully continue to make their voices heard in Washington until Washington begins to reflect our values in our nation's policies or our leaders reap what they are sowing in the aftermath of every fall election from this point forward.

God's Word couldn't be more clear on the topic of homosexuality being a sinful lifestyle to practice. Furthermore, there is no ambiguity whatsoever concerning what God intended a marriage to consist of as detailed in Scripture.

Church, we have to stand our ground in these last days to the extent we can. This is no time for us to be fainting! It is our obligation to be the salt of the earth and the light of the world as Christ commanded us to be!

Will our elected officials hear our voices on the issue of repealing the Defense Of Marriage Act as loudly as it has on the issue of healthcare reform? I genuinely pray so as this is no time for the Church to be asleep at the wheel. This is our time to hold the line as best we can.

2nd Timothy 4:1-2: I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

We need to strongly rebuke the notion of the Defense Of Marriage Act being repealed. If we do so and fail because of the spiritual corruption of our leadership, so be it! We will have done our best. But if we do nothing and President Obama brings the United States one step closer to becoming a modern Sodom and Gomorrah? That shouldn't even be an option.

Rise up, Church, not with weapons of war but with "the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God!" (Ephesians 6:17)
