Murder of an Abortionist

by Michael G. Mickey
(6-11-09)

If you've read it one place, you probably read it ten other places. I know I have, but isn't it interesting, to say the very least, how absolutely outraged the mainstream media and all people associated with the Left are that a man (George Tiller) who killed, as in murdered, thousands of babies was himself murdered in cold blood recently? Consider the following excerpt of a commentary written by Bonnie Erbe entitled 'Tiller Murder Is Terrorism, and All Pro-Life Extremists Are to Blame' as an example.

Let George Tiller's murder be the last straw. It is time for America's pro-choice majority to stop standing idly by as extreme so-called pro-life advocates murder obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) who are providing women with the legal right to terminate pregnancies. I am careful to note I am referring here to EXTREMIST pro-life advocates, people who refer to abortion as "baby-killing" and other inflammatory rhetoric. I am explicitly not referring to mainstreamers who object to abortion due to religious beliefs, but who refrain from using inflammatory speech.

It's also time to ask the question: Why is it that more than a handful of OB/GYNs, nurses, and women's health clinic workers have been murdered at gunpoint or in clinic bombings, and no one on the so-called pro-life side of this debate has been similarly injured? Could it be that there are more maladjusted persons on the religious side of this debate? It is a question that must be answered
.

How typical.

I refer to abortion as the killing of babies because that's what it is. Therefore I find myself, once again, labeled as an extremist. And why? Because calling abortion murder, even the late-term variety that George Tiller was notorious for providing, is "inflammatory rhetoric."

To read Erbe's words, one would think the abortion of a child - a human being of the most defenseless type imaginable - is little more than having one's tonsils removed, maybe less.

It's not what you said, it's how you said it

As a police officer, one of the things I always listened for when interviewing suspects in relation to crimes committed was for a suspect to use language that somehow minimized the crime itself. Most guilty people do this subconsciously while others do it intentionally. Let me explain.

Often when I would ask a suspect I was reasonably sure had stolen something if they had, indeed, "stolen" the missing item, their response to me would be that they hadn't "taken" anything. A subtle play on words but this tactic serves a purpose in the mind of the suspect. It's a defense mechanism of sorts.

Everyone knows that stealing is flat out wrong. Therefore, no one ever wants to confess to stealing something, but confess to taking something? Maybe. After all, we take things all the time, and not necessarily because we're stealing them. The subconscious purpose of people doing this, in most cases, is it takes the edge off of the crime to use language that dampens its wickedness in the eyes of the person who sees the crime for what it really is, especially if that person is a police officer. What does this show us? Simple human nature.

It is natural for us to use soft language when speaking of a wrong we've done because, even if we're guilty as sin, we don't want our accuser to see us as a bad or even terrible person. We hope they'll see us as someone who took something instead of a thief. In like manner, this is why so many confessions of adultery in marriage begin with the words "I made a mistake" instead of "I had sex with someone and it wasn't you."

So, looking at Erbe's words, what do we see? George Tiller was murdered and obstetrician-gynecologists (OB/GYNs) are being murdered, but all the babies that were killed by these individuals? Their beating hearts, bodies, legs, arms, fingers, etc.? These little ones were nothing more than legally "terminated pregnancies." Like I said, you'd think George Tiller was removing people's tonsils instead of extinguishing human lives, which is just what he did. If tomorrow, a legislative body created a law that said it was okay for people to steal one item per year without fear of prosecution, would that make doing so morally correct? Of course not! A law like that wouldn't be morally acceptable simply because it was put to ink and the same applies to abortion. Besides, contrary to what some believe, Erbe being an example, Almighty God could care less about what man has written into law when compared to what He has told us we can and can't do!

Exodus 20:13: Thou shalt not kill.

Proverbs 6:16-18: These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.
Legality should never trump morality, but in these last days it often does which is precisely why we're headed down the path to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ at an ever-quickening pace.

Millions of children have been slaughtered as a result of Roe v. Wade and few mourn for them, but let just one abortionist get gunned down and watch what happens.

One murdered George Tiller should be "the last straw" according to Erbe and millions like her. You'd think the man was a candidate for sainthood and that this sort of thing happens everyday, pro-lifers shooting up cities all over America trying to off an abortionist! What a bunch of liberal hooey! It makes me sick, especially when the same liberals that cry for George Tiller and sob for the innocent victims of war are as silent as mice when a Muslim extremist guns down a U.S. soldier in the name of Allah and claims he was justified in doing so, for example!

If tears should be streaming down America's collective face, they should be for Pvt. William Andrew Long, 23. He had just completed basic training and was volunteering at a recruiting station before he would've been deployed to South Korea. But the mainstream media doesn't get all up in arms about that. It absolutely can't right now! And why? Because an abortionist has been murdered and Christians and pro-life conservatives all over America are to blame for it! It's not simply the suspect Scott Roeder's fault that Tiller is dead. Everyone who has openly expressed an opinion that abortion is murder is somehow involved in Tiller's death in the minds of liberals everywhere, the same liberals who are intolerant of Christians for opposing same-sex marriage.

And we wonder why Janet Napolitano, liberal head of the Department of Homeland Security, acting on behalf of our liberal president, recently tried to label each and every person in the United States of America who opposes abortion as a right-wing extremist? Simply put, sick minds come up with sick logic which brings me to the second paragraph of Erbe's commentary - the one wherein she wonders why "over a handful" of abortion providers "have been murdered at gunpoint or in clinic bombings and no one on the so-called pro-life side of this debate has been similarly injured?" Could it be because it would take someone even more insane than the man who killed George Tiller to kill people for loving babies and wanting nothing more than for them to be BORN to live their God-given lives?

Killing is killing and killing is wrong

While there are some in the world who were gleeful that George Tiller was murdered, I didn't jump for joy. I see what happened to him in the same light I view the killing of babies AKA abortion.

Killing is killing and killing is wrong. Besides, God has told us that He will, in due season, deal with the wicked. It is His place to do so and our job to leave judgment to Him to the very best of our human ability.

Romans 12:19: Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
