Beauty Queen Stuns Miss USA Contest

by Michael G. Mickey

The Telegraph is reporting the following concerning the Miss USA contest, in part:

Carrie Prejean, who finished runner up to Kristen Dalton in the pageant, nevertheless produced the biggest reaction from the audience when asked about legalising same-sex marriage.
You know this is going to make for good reading, right? Her response as reported by The Telegraph, as well as the audience's response to her, follows:
"We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage," Miss Prejean said. "And you know what, I think in my country, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offence to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

Some in the audience cheered, others booed.
Besides demonstrating that she was raised in a normal family, raising the likelihood she is a right-wing extremist in the making, her moment in the spotlight of public scrutiny on this issue shows us how little impact God's command that we not engage in homosexual relations has in our nation today. Little to none and it's becoming closer to none by the second!

Those of my readers who have some gray (or a lot) in their hair know that 20 years ago a question on same-sex marriage wouldn't have been a part of the Miss USA contest, but if it had? Miss California's answer would've been the expected one, instead of a response that many are insisting and will continue to insist casts her in a poor light. God help us that our nation has lost its way this much, but we shouldn't be any more surprised by this than we are by all of the other end times signs appearing in the world around us, crying out to us that the Day of the Lord is drawing near, as well as our redemption.

Are We There Yet?

Jesus said the last days would find the world as it was in the days of Lot, when he and his family lived in Sodom. (Luke 17:28-30) Are we there yet? Not yet, children, but we're very close. If you look ahead, you can almost see the lights of home coming into view. It isn't going to be much longer until the world we live in today is precisely like Sodom was conditionally as revealed in Genesis, chapter 19.

In Genesis 19:4, we see that all the city's people were present when the wicked men of Sodom, seeking to have same-sex relations with the two male angels visiting Lot, were pressing at his door.

Genesis 19:4: But before they lay down, the men of the city, even the men of Sodom, compassed the house round, both old and young, all the people from every quarter:
Worthy of noting, not one person in the crowd came forward to defend righteous Lot, his family, his home or the two men innocently staying there. While it's impossible to tell how Sodom became the mess it was morally and spiritually in the days Lot dwelled there, I imagine it happened over a period of time just as it's happening in our nation today. At some point, Satan stuck his foot in Sodom's doorway and, for whatever reason, no one slammed the door on it hard enough to make him pull it out. It was all downhill from there, of course.

Is the story of Lot's time in Sodom becoming our nation's story? It seems more and more that way, doesn't it? Pretty soon, in my humble opinion, if the Lord doesn't come for His Church, the days when people who openly express an opinion on sexual or family issues in keeping with the Word of God's teachings will be treading on dangerous ground. That may already be in the making, as we see in a OneNewsNow.com article which states the following, in part:
A vote is looming this week in Congress on a bill that one conservative activist warns would not only silence Christian opposition to homosexuality, but also would legitimize deviant forms of "sexual orientation."

Setting aside the implications of a time coming when God's Word could be illegal to be spoken from a Christian's perspective, it's frightening that we're headed down a path like this purely from an American perspective!

Freedom of speech and religion are foundational principles underlying our nation's very existence, but, make no mistake about it, those principles are under attack, even being demonized by our own Department of Homeland Security as if they're a threat to our nation's very existence. Not only that, when the people who are supposed to have a say in the direction this nation is headed, namely tax-paying citizens, actually try to? Many of our leaders and judges go right around us as if the vast majority of us, even while speaking in one voice on a number of moral issues, are irrelevant. Friend, if you're not worried, you need to be. If you're not outraged, you should be as this is not how the United States of America was meant to be run. Not at all.

An example of the people voting one way and government going the opposite direction? Presently Wisconsin's governor, a Democrat, in spite of Wisconsin voters supporting the biblical definition of marriage, is bypassing their votes in favor of the homosexual agenda, as being reported by OneNewsNow.com. The nerve of that guy, right?

How do we solve these problems?

Christians, we all know where Bible prophecy tells us we're headed, which is right down the path we're very clearly on, but while we, the Body of Christ, are still here, we need to be fighting the good fight against the darkness seeking to villainize us and silence our voices in this wicked world.

Contrary to what most of the liberal world would expect a right-wing extremist like me to suggest as a solution to the nosedive we're taking as a nation on multiple fronts, I favor political activism of a peaceful nature over pistols at ten paces, but Church? We can't sit on our hands anymore, shrugging our shoulders while government sticks a fork in us saying we're done. Even in a wicked world like ours, there are still men and women in our Congress willing to go to bat for the rights of Christians (and everyone else for that matter) when the Obama administration tries to sow seed that clearly isn't going to put forth anything but the most bitter of fruits. WorldNetDaily.com is reporting the following on that topic, in part:

Members of both sides of the aisle in Congress are expressing outrage and seeking an investigation into a new Department of Homeland Security report on "extremism" that targets U.S. military veterans, opponents of abortion and supporters of other conservative causes.
Within the WND article, we see a peaceful means to preserve for the Church whatever remaining influence we have in steering the course of this nation's future. We need to get behind all our members in Congress demanding answers from Janet Napolitano and the Department of Homeland Security, both through prayer and reaching out to them by writing them or calling their offices. While we're in the process of being heard on the issue of the mischaracterization of us as right-wing extremists, we can also voice our concerns where H.R. 1913's potential impact on our ability to teach and preach the Word of God as written is concerned.

From this point forward, Church, we're going to have to rise to the occasion when we need to, all of us working hand-in-hand to oppose that which stands in opposition to the will of our God. As we do that, may we always be mindful of the need for us to do so peacefully and respectfully. Anything less than that will only play into the hands of our enemies.

Matthew 10:16: Behold, I send you forth as sheep in the midst of wolves: be ye therefore wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
Repeat after me: Wise as serpents, harmless as doves. Wise as serpents, harmless as doves.
