Lately I've been having some bothersome hardware issues with my computer that have been a pain to get resolved - the kind of problems that occasionally lead to the "blue screen of death" for those of you familiar with that terminology. As irritating as issues like that are, especially while trying to run an end times website that examines current events in light of bible prophecy, the down time is refreshing at times, affording me the opportunity to spend a little more time in the e-mail box which is always interesting, as I'm about to demonstrate.
For whatever reason - and I can't really explain it unless it was just a stress thing - the content of an e-mail I read last night, after finally finding the problem slowing my work down, busted me up laughing. It started from the moment I read the greeting and continued to the end. I read the odd message several times and each time I read it I found myself cracking up again. Having slept on it last night, I can't say I'm any less amused by it this morning so I've decided to share this piece of fan mail with my readers, not because it is of any meaningful substance but because it shows just how looney some people think we are and just how looney those individuals are.
Here's the unedited e-mail written to me by a guy named Rob:
Dear Raptoids
If you look on your prescription bottles, you'll want to be sure to take all your medication exactly as prescribed by your Doctor. Do not skip a dose or double up one that you may have missed.
Also be sure to get plenty of bed rest and if you feel any anxiety you should contact your Doctor immediately.

P.S. Also, be sure to put your foil hats on at night

The medical advice? It's actually quite sound so please, fellow Raptoids, do take your medications as prescribed by your doctor. We're so close conditionally to the return of Jesus Christ I want every one of us to strive to persist to the very day of the rapture of the Church! Remember, a significant portion of one generation of Christians isn't going to have to experience the sting of death! That should be enough motivation to keep us pressing onward on a daily basis.
And bed rest? Yes, fellow Raptoids, you need to do everything in your power to stay rested that you may remain strong enough to face all the fiery darts the enemy is surely going to throw at us from this point forward. Ever play dodge ball as a child? I did. Remember what led to you getting nailed more times than not? Fatigue, right? So stay rested, both mentally and physically. Take some breaks here and there. It's good for you. If you think you don't have time to kick your feet back for a bit just to soak up some sunshine, play with the family dog, or take a nice cat nap in your recliner? Make some! You'll feel better and be stronger during these days when we so badly need to be.
And anxieties? It's hard not to have some in a world like the one we're living in, but remember that Jesus said He would be with us always, right to the very end! Don't allow anything that causes you to fret to overwhelm you, especially evil. Be brave, run a good race, fight a good fight and never surrender!
And wearing your foil hats at night? This is just a silly suggestion on the part of the e-mail author. Everyone knows that foil hats should be worn during the waking hours when the mind is fully active to prevent the laser beams being fired at us from 200 channels of cable television, radios, e-mail and the like from penetrating our skulls and rendering our brains useless to us. Christians don't need foil hats! We have our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, God's Word, and more and more evidence appearing in the news of our world today by the minute that a happy ending is right around the prophetic corner for us. It could even come today!
