I'm sure it has been noted by my readers that I've been less active in writing commentaries for the site of late, some of which I'd like to explain and ask for the prayerful support of my readers concerning.
In recent weeks, I've been preparing for a three-day speaking engagement which has absorbed a lot of my energy, but, as always seems to be the case when I'm trying to do that which is pleasing to the Lord, I've been experiencing some setbacks and trials.
As many of you know, I suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of some events that took place in my law enforcement career. It is uncommon for me, as a result, to sleep regularly for any consecutive period of nights, but the last few weeks? I've been beguiled by insomnia, nightmares and restlessness - sometimes to the point of great frustration. Am I surprised by that? Yes and no.
It's become routine for me to wake up at 3 a.m. and be unable to go back to sleep, but my nights have been particularly troubled of late, burdened by imagery that comes to me in my sleep that I wish I could leave behind. Imagine, if you can, what it would be like to wake up for 4 straight days feeling like you've been in a fight for your survival. That's my world at times and I've learned to accept it because it's in those times when I feel weakest in my human flesh that I ring the prayer bells of heaven more loudly, give pause to the spiritual darkness I have witnessed firsthand, and look to the One who is strong to give me strength I can't seem to muster on my own - a process that I can and do testify led to the birth of RaptureAlert.com long ago.
Seeing the world for what it really is has been painful for me, a heavy cross to bear, but one I can see served the Lord's purposes for my life. To become an humble and obedient man, I had to reach the end of ME to the point I could see that my life has never been about ME. The 'ME first' approach to life kept me from serving the Lord with any conviction for more years than I care to recall. Those days, it seems, are over and, if so, thank the Lord for my heavy cross!
So, physically, I've not been on my 'A game' lately. Not only that, things have just been strange all around. For no known reason, my internet connection went bonkers for a period of a few days until, finally, I had to get a technician over to my house to work on it. He seemed as puzzled by what was going on as I did upon examining my equipment and signal strength. One minute I could browse the web, but the next? Nothing. The signal seemed pretty strong, based on his equipment, but the day eventually required the wiring outside my house to be redone and a new modem installed. By then I was playing catch-up which, as anyone who does what I do can attest, can be overwhelming because there is so much of prophetic interest going on right now it can keep one's head spinning every day!
Another weird thing? I'd planned on working on a presentation I needed to complete a few days ago and came home from a short trip out to discover my garage door wouldn't open. I have an exterior keypad for those moments when I'm either driving our third vehicle (we only have two remotes) or I'm out walking in the neighborhood and don't want to be lugging around keys. It was a third vehicle scenario so I hit the keypad. No response. I tried it again and again and again. Nothing. So, in the end? I had to call my wife to come let me in the house which threw her work day in a spin. She opened the door and, in what was a comedic moment from my perspective, walked over to the keypad and punched in the code. It worked on the first try!
Christians, sometimes it seems like we're in a hurricane, doesn't it? One minute we're being slung around like a sock in the dryer and the next we're out of the dryer and the dog is gnawing on us! Out of the hurricane and into the storm, from the frying pan into the microwave! You get the idea.
So where am I going with this? As unbelievable as it may be for you to fathom at this point, having purged myself of a few of my frustrations of late, I'm actually going somewhere with this. At least I think so.
I want to bring to your attention an item currently in the news of prophetic interest to us - one that is leading us out of a hurricane and into a storm - by design, in my humble opinion.
Here we go!
British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, as I have pointed out several times recently, has been very active, along with French president Nicolas Sarkozy and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, in establishing in the international community a mindset that we need to seek global solutions to the world's current economic crisis. Not only that, but who better to help us get out of the mess we're in than (you guessed it) the revived Roman empire of Bible prophecy we commonly refer to as the European Union?
The EU Observer is reporting the following, in part (emphasis added mine):
In an unusually pro-European speech on Tuesday (24 March) UK prime minister Gordon Brown insisted that Britain was one of the EU's key players and that the 27-nation bloc was in a unique position to lead the way out of the global financial crisis by re-inserting "a strong sense of values" in the financial markets.
"I stand here today proud to be British and proud to be European," Mr Brown told MEPs in Strasbourg.
The UK has often been subject to criticism for not being sufficiently involved in EU affairs, notably due to its opt-outs from various EU areas such as justice and home affairs or the common European currency.
But the British premier stressed that he was "representing a country that does not see itself as an island adrift from Europe but as a country at the centre of Europe; not in Europe's slipstream but firmly in its mainstream."
He also said the EU was "uniquely placed" to provide world leadership in finding a way out of the "international hurricane that is sweeping the world."
The bloc has a long history of cross-border co-operation and "a strong sense of values" it can bring to the markets, he added.
"I propose that we in Europe take a central role" in setting up "a new principled economy for our times," Mr Brown said.
On April 2nd, Brown is going to be hosting the G20 meeting in London. What we can be sure of, in my humble opinion, is that Brown and his EU contemporaries are going to be seeking to put the revived Roman empire in the driver's seat where the global economy is concerned, at a time when Russia, China and others are wanting to see a global currency created no less. How opportune, eh?
Bible prophecy tells us that a global government and currency is part of mankind's future and folks? Read my lips (or the words you'd see on my lips if you could): We need to remove any doubt from our minds whatsoever that we are going to be headed down that dark road in the very near future, potentially as soon as next month.
I'm not saying the new world order is going to be in operation next month, but if we're not concretely headed down New World Order Avenue after the G20 convenes? The
idea of heading that way is going to become commonplace if things at the G20 go as I believe the "powers that be" want them to.
The global elite, in my humble opinion, wants mankind to dip its toes into the water a bit, get more comfortable with the idea of a world "working in unity" to solve its problems at a time when we are facing all kinds of
global crises - economic, environmental, etc. The G20 provides an opportunity to get that ball rolling and I've documented that goal is definitely on the agenda. In today's example, we're merely seeing an updated version of what we've heard suggested by other European leaders in the months leading up to now.
British PM Gordon Brown, per his own words, is just singing the EU's song when he says he wants everyone to consider how well-suited the Beast rising in Europe is to help get us out of the "international hurricane that is sweeping the world." What he isn't going to tell us - and perhaps doesn't even conceive on any level - is that the Beast, an entity the god of this world holds great sway over? Once in position to wield the power it currently seeks, it is going to bare its teeth and they're going to be found to be quite sharp.
Global government: An idea whose time has come?
What British PM Gordon Brown is selling is what many in the world today are desperately hoping for - a scenario that envisions global conditions getting better for everyone because of 'global unity' becoming a reality. What Bible prophecy foretells, on the other hand, is globalized government and a globalized currency bringing mankind to a terrible end game - one that will come when a leader arises to head the new world order presently being sought who will abuse his authority to the point he will seek to be mankind's god, proving that "power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely." (See
2nd Thessalonians 2:3-4)
Make no mistake about it, Christians. If we're on our way out of an "international hurricane" via globalized solutions that rip our national sovereignty from us, we're flying blind out of the hurricane we're presently in and into the perfect prophetic storm!
Parachute anyone?
