What, exactly, is a Barack Obama presidency going to bring to our doorstep? If I wasn't wondering, even worried, before, I definitely am now. Why? Because of some comments made by Obama's running mate, Senator Joe Biden, that appear in an ABC News story. Let's look at some of what he had to say.
Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., on Sunday guaranteed that if elected, Sen. Barack Obama., D-Ill., will be tested by an international crisis within his first six months in power and he will need supporters to stand by him as he makes tough, and possibly unpopular, decisions.
What does Joe Biden know that we don't know? One has to wonder in light of a strange comment like that. It's almost as if we're being prepped to believe that something of epic proportions is going to occur in early 2009 that "The One" will have to guide us through. Not only will he have to guide us through this crisis, Biden is already prepping us to support him in whatever it is he does, even though it may be
unpopular with the masses. You have to love it when the running mate of a guy most of conservative America doesn't trust as far as they could throw an army tank begins preparing us to support him during an
international crisis that we're not-so-subtly being told to believe isn't going to make us happy before he's even elected to office, huh?
Possibilities Abound
Are we on the edge of the new world order being born and Obama is already considering how he's going to subjugate the United States (and all of us as citizens) to its will? That's a definite possibility in light of
recent developments.
Could it be that Obama realizes that the Muslim world, strongly suspecting he is going to end "decades of putting Israel's interests first" as
Jesse Jackson put it recently, is already plotting an attack on the nation of Israel which he is going to be slow to condemn or offer our ally any help in coping with? That's a possibility as well.
Could it be that Obama is already looking for an excuse, even hoping for one, to immediately withdraw our troops from Iraq and lose the war which we all know he is committed to doing?
Think about it, readers! What is Joe Biden prepping us for?
Stand by your man
How many
international crises have taken place during the history of the United States of America that we, as a nation, failed to rally around our president? How many crises have occurred that a significant portion of us were highly disgruntled by the decision of our president in a moment like that? When one pauses to reflect on our nation's history and the character of its citizenry as a whole, it is frightening to consider what Joe Biden is talking about, isn't it? Let's continue (emphasis added mine).
"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy."
"I can give you at least four or five scenarios from where it might originate," Biden said to Emerald City supporters, mentioning the Middle East and Russia as possibilities. "And he's gonna need help. And the kind of help he's gonna need is, he's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him. Because it's not gonna be apparent initially, it's not gonna be apparent that we're right."
This is either one of the most bizarre speeches I have ever read or it's pre-conditioning.
What does Senator Biden mean when he refers to a
generated international crisis? Who is he inferring is going to construct this international crisis he speaks of? Regardless of what the crisis is going to be, the clues we've been given - and pretty clearly - are:
- If Obama wins the White House, an international crisis particularly targeting and testing him is going to be generated by unidentified and quite clever sources.
- Obama is going to make decisions the American people aren't going to like in response to this generated crisis of international scope.
- Obama is going to rely on his supporters to minimize a significant portion of public opinion in opposition to whatever it is he has obviously already determined he's going to do.
As strange as things have been in this wicked world of late, I think it's fair to say we haven't seen anything yet, particularly if Barack Obama becomes our next president. Either that or Joe Biden needs to up his dosage, which is a possibility in light of his recent inability to count to 4.
If Joe Biden is sane - and I like to think he is - something is cooking in the devil's crockpot. Whatever it is, it must be quite a dish.
