Did the U.S.A.F. have a close encounter?

by Michael G. Mickey

Recently, I have written a number of commentaries concerning what seems to be a dramatic spike in UFO-related information appearing in the news of our world today and my fears that the strong delusion that Bible prophecy tells us is going to fall upon the world in the aftermath of the Rapture of the Church may well arrive via a flying saucer. Why would I think such a thing? Partially because the news headlines of late are beginning to read more and more like the headlines of convenience store tabloids!

Just today I posted a story to the site's news page which indicates that Vietnam is reporting that a UFO crashed on one of its southern islands. Pieces of metal have reportedly been recovered and official sources are saying it could've been an aircraft but they're not sure because no aircraft have been reported missing from anywhere in the area. While the craft's origins remain unknown, the internet is abuzz with the possibility of another Roswell-like incident already being tossed around by UFO enthusiasts.

Then there is the story of a strange object caught in a photograph taken by NASA's Phoenix Lander on Mars. Video of the object is featured below; a still photo of it can be seen by scrolling down this page.

If you look at the still photo linked above, look to the middle right area of it along the horizon where you'll see what appears to be a vertical, light-colored object rising from the martian soil. Because the object is in sharp contrast to everything around it, it is getting a lot of attention. It got my attention the first day photos from the lander were released - to the extent I downloaded the photo and enhanced it several different ways, trying to get a better look at that interesting little white spot. Why? Because I suspected it would be noticed by others soon and would fuel greater interest in space-related matters and ignite the curiosities of many a person.

There's more! Way more!

Fox News is reporting that "a man wants Denver city voters to set up a commission to prepare for visits from space aliens, and he plans to release a videotape Friday that convinced him there is life on other planets."

The man, whose name is Jeff Peckman according to Rocky Mountain News, is quoted as saying the video was among the reasons he was "compelled" to launch the proposed ballot initiative, which has generated news as far as South Africa.

The following is an excerpt from the Rocky Mountain News article concerning the content of the video and other things we are told will be released/revealed to the public tomorrow:
"It shows an extraterrestrial's head popping up outside of a window at night, looking in the window, that's visible through an infrared camera," he said. The alien is about 4 feet tall and can be seen blinking, Peckman said earlier this month.

In a statement, Peckman said "other related credible evidence" proving aliens exist will be shown at Friday's news conference, too.
(Note to readers: Someone get me a copy of the little green man blinking ASAP, okay? Thanks. GO FISH!)

And, lastly, a retired Air Force Colonel is in the news once again who claims to have witnessed, along with a number of U.S. Air Force military police officers, a UFO up close and personal at RAF Woodbridge in late December of 1980.

While I can't speak to the truth or absence of truth of Colonel Charles I. Halt's assertions, I was a security specialist in the United States Air Force from 1983 to 1987. The Air Force's military police were divided into two branches, law enforcement and security specialist. The division I served in was tasked with air base ground defense in times of warfare and protecting the security of priority resources, personnel and facilities. My particular assignment was related to the security of nuclear weapons based at Minot AFB, North Dakota. I state all of that in order to be able to tell "the rest of the story" as radio personality Paul Harvey would put it.

The story which Charles I. Halt, retired colonel of the USAF, is telling today isn't new to me. It was a story often told at the Minot Air Force base, particularly among those who served as security specialists.

The story was, as I heard it numerous times, that a high-ranking Air Force base commander whom I now know to have been Colonel Halt, along with a number of military police officers, had encountered a bona fide UFO at a base in England. What they were witness to was a modern day close encounter in every version of the story I ever heard. Much as Halt describes in the video below, the UFO the Air Force commander and others encountered had physically landed near the base and evidence was collected demonstrative of same. In some versions of the story, it was even suggested that ETs actually exited the craft and met with Air Force personnel who were subsequently threatened with death if they ever revealed that aspect of the story.

While I have no idea if those present saw any ETs or not, I am now convinced that something took place at RAF Woodbridge - and a number of people witnessed it. The question is: What really happened?

If the event Colonel Halt describes wasn't an elaborate hoax capable of deceiving men who, like most who have served and are presently serving in the Air Force, had seen most every type of aircraft at one time or another, even the most technologically advanced versions, there is only one other possibility in my mind and it's this: Colonel Charles I. Halt and those with him on that night in December of 1980 witnessed a demonic manifestation - one that may well, even to this very day, be playing a role in setting the stage for the strong delusion of 2nd Thessalonians 2:11 to come to pass in the aftermath of the Rapture of the Church. As I always state, I'm not being dogmatic in making that suggestion. I'm merely laying it out there as a possibility because this ongoing stir of interest in the unexplained, UFOs and the like is taking place in the midst of Bible prophecy aligning for fulfillment on multiple fronts of late - and dramatically it seems.

Bottom line? If you're not a Christian and don't plan to become a Christian, make a mental note to yourself concerning all you have read in this commentary as it may give rise to an epiphany on your part, potentially in the not-too-distant future when you may desperately need to have one in order to avoid spending an eternity in hell due to the absolute madness that is going to engulf this planet once the Tribulation Period begins. Having said that, a far better option would be for you to come to faith in Jesus Christ today.

The end times drama continues...
